iib’s business strategy is predicated around two principal drivers. Namely, the acquisition of retail/commercial banking operations in our geographic area of focus, and the integration of these assets around a common operating platform and a common value set.
The exit of larger financial institutions from our target markets as a part of their own rationalization and de-risking process leaves material opportunities to selectively build credit, transactional and wealth management services.
Specifically, the aim is to focus on three discrete business lines:
- Strong local deposit bases, building strong and expandable local credit franchises while integrating these businesses around a common operating platform.
- The provision of transactional banking services to smaller banks and corporates in the area of the trade finance, payments, correspondent banking, liquidity management, custody and treasury services.
- Using our geographic placement of banking operations to build regional banking franchises and offer wealth management services.
