The international investment bank (iibCV) in partnership with the Cape Verde Stock Exchange (BVC), supports the holding of the Stock Exchange Tournament, within the scope of the Global Money Week, an international event that aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of financial issues.

With the support of iibCV, through the financial contribution established and participation in the organization, it was possible to ensure the participation of students from all over the country, from Santo Antão to Brava, as well as to create another paid professional internship to be granted, under the tournament, to the runner-up.

The Scholarship Tournament is aimed at students regularly enrolled in undergraduate courses in Higher Education Institutions established in Cape Verde and aims to stimulate and promote education and financial literacy, encourage the habit of saving, awaken to the importance of investment in boosting the economy and identify, encourage and promote young talents.

In this way, the 3 best classified and the respective Educational Institutions were awarded: the 1st place with the opportunity to carry out a 6 (six) month internship at BVC; the 2nd place with the opportunity of a 3 (three) month internship at iibCV and the 3rd place with the opportunity to carry out training in an accredited training entity in Cape Verde.

The international investment bank S.A. (iibCV) held the 3rd Edition of its “Business Breakfast iib”, at the Hotel Trópico, this morning, May 10, 2024. The highlight of this edition was Financial Stability in the Banking Sector, a pertinent and always current topic.

We did so, as usual, with the participation of distinguished guests, partners and stakeholders, whose contributions we highly value. The event was attended by Dr. José Galvão Baptista, Senior Economist at the Bank of Cape Verde, who shared perspectives on Financial Stability in the Banking Sector in Cape Verde, allowing those present to have visibility on the economy, as well as the state of the national banking sector.

Of note was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between iibCV and the Professional Association of Microfinance Institutions of Cape Verde, in the act represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Francisco Tavares.

The event had several moments of sharing and emotions, of which the delivery, in a “surprise moment”, of a special toast to the outgoing Executive Committee, in the presence of CEO Francisco Ferreira and CFO José Soares, as a sign of gratitude for their contribution to the appreciation and recognition of iibCV and its people. To the recipients, thank you for your dedication, teachings and commitment!

At the same time, the presentation of the new Executive Committee was made, represented by Manuel Fernandes and Aicha Correia.

The year 2023 was an exercise of excellence for the iibCV:
It recorded a significant growth in the balance sheet, without incorporating a significant increase in risk-weighted assets, increased the profitability of the operation significantly, having been the best year in terms of results, and with efficiency, profitability and solvency indicators reflecting a meritoriously sound operating structure.

2023 marks the third consecutive year in which iibCV achieves the best performance in its history, reflected in its results and achievements!!

The international investment bank S.A. (iibCV) was invited to participate in the event “The Customer Summit” in Portugal. The bank was represented by the Head of Marketing, Nelson Leocadio, who participated as a speaker in Panel 2 – Customer Success – Innovative Strategies to Reduce Churn and Increase Recurring Revenues.

Nelson enthusiastically shared valuable insights, as well as the most relevant experiences of the iibCV team in dealing with its people and its clients, as well as the various strategies adopted that contributed to the internationalization of the Cape Verdean financial market and its Social Responsibility policy.

The edition of The Customer Summit brought together more than 4,000 and 19 speakers, in one of the largest online events in the world on Customer Experience (CX) and Customer Success (CS).

iibCV emerged as the winner in 5 (five) different categories during the “Bolsa Awards” event held on May 13, 2023, as part of the 25th anniversary of the Cape Verde Stock Exchange. The bank received the highest number of awards presented that night, including:

• 2022 Issuer Award;
• 2022 Stock Operator – Primary Market (Global);
• 2022 Stock Operator – Primary Market (Corporate and Municipal);
• Gold Broker Operator;
• Innovation in the Capital Market.

The “Bolsa Awards” event aimed to recognize the key participants in the Cape Verdean capital market, highlighting those who have made significant contributions to its development, whether as issuers, stock operators, or partners. Among these, the “Gold Broker Operator” category deserves special mention. This award aimed to distinguish the operator who provided the best assistance to investors in the process of acquiring or selling securities, as well as in providing useful clarifications. The winner was decided through public voting by investors.

Being recognized by our clients and relevant market stakeholders as a significant economic agent for the development and innovation of the market, with a particular focus on the capital market, is a source of pride and motivation for us to continue striving to do more and better, bringing new investment opportunities to Cape Verde.

Our heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of the 5 Merit Scholarships awarded, the “iib Merit Scholarship”: Riana Sofia Lopes Monteiro, Wilkar José dos Reis da Graça, Freidy Jorge Lima Soares, Jacira Simone Sequeira Lima, Eliana Nataly Oliveira Ramos. Additionally, we extend our special congratulations to the student honored with the “iibCV Excellence” distinction, Dr. Wilian Michel Monteiro, for his academic performance throughout his undergraduate studies.

The Academic Excellence Incentive Program, a partnership between the international investment bank S.A. (iibCV) and the Ministry of Education, took place today at the Trópico Hotel in Praia. It aims to recognize and reward the top students regularly enrolled in undergraduate programs in the fields of Economics and Social Sciences at Higher Education Institutions established in Cape Verde, with the goal of stimulating and promoting higher education and academic meritocracy.

iibCV held its first “Business Breakfast iib” at Hotel Trópico on June 9th. The event aimed to address the current international and national economic context, the recent history of iib, our causes and achievements, and our results, which greatly reflect the essence of our identity, the will, and the spirit of our People.

The event was attended by Dr. Carlos Furtado, Director of Economic and Statistical Studies at the Bank of Cape Verde, who shared insights into the international and national macroeconomic situation. Dr. Carlos Cruz, representing SOS Children’s Villages Cape Verde, gave an inspiring testimony about the outcome of the social responsibility actions carried out by iibCV in support of SOS Villages.

The event featured various moments of sharing and emotions, among which the surprise recognition of iibCV employees who have dedicated more than 10 years to this institution, which is ours. To the recipients, a heartfelt thank you for their dedication and commitment!

The year 2022 was an excellent year for iibCV, as it experienced significant balance sheet growth and achieved its best financial results without a significant increase in risk-weighted assets. At the same time, operational profitability increased significantly.
